It hasn't been the best edition for my performance in this year's Zwift Academy 2021 Road Program. Blighted by serious work challenges and illness which hampered my ability to perform at a higher standard, I could not complete most of the workouts without dropping some segments along the way. Only Workout #6 was the one that I held on to complete all segments, barely.
With that, I managed to drag my battered physique across the line on the very last day of the Academy deadline, October 25th 2021 with the Finishing Line Ride. Coming out of the Academy, I have managed to hold on to my current form despite the issues I faced which is a comfort for me.
With the Academy concluded, I look back at the Recovery Rides I have led in my annual Community give back for Zwift's continued support. They have been great experiences to meet old friends again and make new ones from around the world.
The Recovery Rides have also given me the opportunity to impart my knowledge about going slow to heal those tired, smashed legs and getting back to shape ready for the next race, workout, or even group rides. While all these rides were going on, we did not forget to keep things very social and the occasional jokes/banter were seen popping up.
Thank you Zwift Academy 2021 Team, notably Sam Mobberley for the opportunity and support of the Academy experience which has been great for me since 2017. Congratulations to fellow Academics who graduated and see you soon at the Campus. #zwiftacademy2021road #rideon #gozwift #taichocyclist
