The Government has accepted the Active Mobility Advisory Panel’s (#AMAP) recommendations for on-road cycling. Coming into effect on 1 Jan 2022, these new rules and guidelines will improve road safety for all users, especially as more people take up cycling for commute and leisure. . 🤨 The composition fines for cycling offences such as riding on expressways and road tunnels, or riding abreast on single lane roads has been increased from S$75 to S$150.

Rules aside, I beseech the cycling communities in Singapore to cooperate and comply with the rules as they are drafted to contain the recklessness, rage and dangerous behaviours that have appeared on social media with an increased uptake of cycling due to COVID19.
